Removing Transportation Barriers
Transportation can be one of the biggest barriers for students in transition to regularly attend school. This funding would assist with the purchase of about 35 $20 gas cards to assist students/families with transporting students to and from school when transportation has been identified as a barrier to their filly attending and participating in school. These gas cards will be used to assist students/families that are wither waiting for a school of origin transportation to get set up and/or are in a transitional living situation that does not allow transportation to get set up.
Providing this type of assistance will help increase attendance during the period of time that school bus transportation is being arranged, which in turn, improves student academic achievement.
