The Annuttaliga Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is offering a $500 scholarship to a senior student who is in financial need and wishes to pursue a degree at an accredited college. The scholarship is offered at Hernando High School, Hernando Christian Academy and Nature Coast Technical High School.

The student wishing to apply for the DAR scholarship should submit a 500-600 word essay, typed, doublespaced using a regular font. The paper should contain original thought and have references. The topic this year is to choose a person, man or woman, who lived at the time of the Revolution. The essay should discuss the person’s life and delineate the contributions this person made to the success of the American Revolution. A good source where such a person might be found is the website for Annuttaliga Chapter, DAR. There the student will find a list of Patriot Ancestors of the Chapter members.
