Central NJROTC Support-A-Cadet Fundraiser

Project Purpose:

THE CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL NAVAL JUNIOR RESERVE OFFICERS TRAINING CORPS (NJROTC) is conducting our Support-a-Cadet activity to generate additional support for our program. As our thriving program begins its fifteenth year, we are proud to announce that we earned the “Most Improved Program” award in our area and have one of the largest corps of cadets in the state of Florida. We continue to develop self-confidence, discipline, respect for authority, a sense of citizenship, leadership skills, physical and mental fitness, lasting friendships and a sense of belonging to something very special. The experience gained through participation in NJROTC will provide our cadets with the “tools” to succeed in life.

How will the funds be used?

Your donations will benefit all cadets by helping to offset annual expenses for travel, meals, lodging and entry fees related to local, state and national competitions, rebuilding our obstacle course, parade equipment, athletic team uniforms and other team related and NJROTC-specific needs. This year we spent over $15,000.00 in sending cadets to Air Rifle and Orienteering National Championships and over $3,000.00 for Drill State Championships. Additionally, we spent over $6,500.00 in Drill and Air Rifle purchases so that our cadets have the best equipment for competitions and every day growth and development as future leaders. Lastly, a portion of the funding we receive through fundraisers go to hosting the traditional Military Ball and Iron Bear. We would like to raise enough funds to take the cadets on fun trips to Universal, Busch Gardens and even be able to pay for Leader ship trips to Leadership Academy, Sail Academy and other STEM type summer activities.
