About HCEF:

Founded in 1988, the Hernando County Education Foundation (HCEF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and the direct-support organization for Hernando County Schools. HCEF connects our public schools with businesses, individuals, foundations, and community partners to create opportunities that help students and educators thrive. Our mission is Creating Partnerships that Advance Student Achievement and Promote Excellence within Hernando County Public Education. HCEF works alongside educators, district leadership, and community partners to identify needs and provide resources and opportunities beyond what traditional education funding can provide. Our initiatives support classroom innovation, teacher resources and recognition, scholarships, mentoring, literacy, STEM, Career and Technical Education, college and career readiness, workforce development, student leadership, and emergency assistance. As the needs of our schools evolve, so does HCEF. We are committed to meeting today's needs while creating tomorrow's opportunities through innovative partnerships, real-world learning experiences, and meaningful investments in students and educators. Together, we are investing in students, empowering educators, strengthening schools, and building the future of Hernando County.
