Bonnie Townsend serves as the Special Program Coordinator and Fundraising Coordinator for the Hernando County Education Foundation, where she plays an important role in supporting the Foundation’s programs, scholarships, fundraising initiatives, students, families, and community partners. She also works closely with the Take Stock in Children Scholarship Program, helping students and families navigate opportunities that support their educational goals and future success.

With more than 20 years of experience working with children and families, Bonnie has had the opportunity to serve children across a wide range of ages and backgrounds. Her extensive experience has given her a deep understanding of the importance of creating positive, supportive relationships with children and providing families with the resources and encouragement they need to succeed.

Bonnie is passionate about serving her community and believes that every child deserves the opportunity to grow, learn, and reach their full potential. She understands that education extends beyond academics and that children thrive when they are surrounded by safe, healthy, supportive, and nurturing environments.

Throughout her career, Bonnie has seen firsthand the importance of addressing the whole child. She believes children are more prepared to learn and succeed when they feel safe, respected, encouraged, and valued as individuals. Social, emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being all play an important role in a child’s development and educational success.

In her role with the Hernando County Education Foundation, Bonnie is committed to building meaningful partnerships with families, educators, businesses, community organizations, and supporters. Through scholarship support and fundraising efforts, she works to help create opportunities that can make a lasting difference in the lives of students.

Bonnie’s dedication to children, families, education, and her community is reflected in everything she does. She believes that while curriculum and academic achievement are essential, we also have a responsibility to understand and support each child as an individual. Her goal is to help ensure that every student has the encouragement, resources, and opportunities necessary to build a successful future.
